2025 took a very unanticipated turn ...
I am forever grateful to the residents of Ward 8 who trusted me to represent their interests at #HamOnt City Council through two successful terms. I loved my role on Council and was planning one more term before going back to engineering.
And then Donald Trump II, MAGA, tariffs, conspiracy theories, three word slogans, the politics of anger and division... and the 2025 federal election happened - and I felt compelled to serve in a broader capacity.
Thank-you, to the residents of Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas for your trust and support, for me personally, as well as for Prime Minister Carney and the Liberal Party of Canada to represent you and all Canadians through these very trying times.
I am so grateful for our amazing Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas team - for their constituency work and everything they do to make sure I am as effective as possible in my role - thank-you! ❤️
And none of this would have been possible without the incredible hard work and support of the HWAD EDA and former MP Filomena Tassi!
Thank you to my family for their ongoing support throughout the campaign, the transition to my role in Ottawa, and the time away from home.
Finally, I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with such a truly fantastic group of people from across Canada. It has been the experience of a lifetime getting to know my Liberal colleagues, working directly with some of the most extraordinary leaders in the world.
There is no shortage of challenges ahead - but I am more optimistic than ever that Canada will meet those challenges and thrive.
